Merlins, along with the rest of the children from our school, welcomed visiting teachers from Zambia. The teachers came into our classes to answer questions about life in Zambia; they also taught the children tradional Zambian songs, dance and stories.
In an assembly, children were fascinated with watching how nshima, a traditional staple food from Zambia, was cooked: they then had the opportunity to try some with some stew. It was enjoyed by most!
The children have benefited a great deal from the visit in extending their knowledge of Zambia and its traditions. The children in Merlins and Ospreys shared what they had learned with their parents last week, in our Out of Africa experience.
