During the last few weeks, the children have been looking at Greek pottery and learning how the designs on the pottery told a story. Some designs told stories about daily life and others told stories of myths, wars and heroes. The children used these ideas to create their own scene from a Greek myth. They recorded their ideas in their sketchbook and then created their scene on a vase using black ink. Their designs are wonderful!
The children have designed a mythical creature to include in their myth and this afternoon they created a clay mask of this creature. They used different skills to form and mould a shape and used slip to attach facial features. They had great fun making them and have produced some amazing masks.
