Chaffinches class had an amazing trip back in time to Conisbrough Castle. We learned all about what life was like in medieval times over 850 years ago. We explored the Bailey and the Barbican, where we were really lucky to see groups of archaeologists digging for evidence. We were able to talk to them and look at some of the things they had found.
We also had time to look at artefacts and dress up in the costumes of the time, which helped us to really understand what life in the castle was like in the times of Lord Hamelin and Lady Isabel.
In the afternoon we visited the keep and climbed all the way to the top. We could see for miles around and we felt what it would have been like for the guards and archers protecting the castle.
