Christmas Coffee Morning

For this year’s Christmas Coffee Morning, the children in Golden Eagles and Snowy Owls gave a powerful performance of ‘The Christmas Truce’ by Poet Laureate, Carol Ann Duffy. The recital was the culmination of two weeks’ work based around the poem. This year marks the one hundredth anniversary of the well-known momentary unilateral truce, which we felt gives the poem particular significance. The adults in school have been impressed with the children’s maturity and understanding when dealing with this sensitive subject.
