The School Council have been e-mailing Laban, the principal of the Stella Maris Community Centre in Kenya. During February, we told him about our tradition of Shrove Tuesday and making and eating pancakes. We sent him a recipe and the children of Stella Maris made their own pancakes; they loved them!
After that they sent us one of their traditional recipes called ‘mukimo’. During last Monday’s assembly, the School Council made mukimo and let the children try it; we all loved it. Mukimo is a little bit like a chapatti and would often be eaten with a stew, meat or lentils.
