Wrens, Robins and Chaffinches had a lovely afternoon fundraising for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The children started off decorating their own daffodil hats, which they then tried on for size.
Don’t they look absolutely fabulous??
They then decorated their ‘mini-pots of care’. The children planted their daffodil bulbs back in November and they have had to care for these ever since.
The children’s pots looked fabulous with their labels on. We talked to the children about how they must continue to care for them and they then took them home with a donation envelope.
Then the fundraising began…..
Some children donated toys and books so we could have a sale. This proved to be very popular!! Some of the Year 2 children kindly helped to serve the younger ones, which meant they had to use their maths skills to work out their change.
The children also helped created a coin collage of a daffodil. It was so good to see it developing throughout the afternoon. At the end of the day it looked amazing!! Even some of the Key stage 2 children ventured down to contribute to this.
So far we have raised £101 and we still have a week for donations to come in. If you are intending to donate any money, please put this in the envelope provided and hand it in by Friday 6th March. Our target is £150.
A big thank you to everyone for your support.
