Congratulations to all of the footballers who have taken part in the Anston Greenlands’ World Cup Tournament over the last two weeks.
After days of group stages, play offs and semi finals, the finals took place on Friday 27th June, with the Key Stage 2 match pitting Brazil against Germany and the Key Stage 1 match taking place between Italy and Portugal.
The Key Stage 2 children provided a nail biting match, with the score rising from 1-0 to 1-1 to 2-1 to 2-2 …
Finally, in the last few minutes, Kristian Connell scored a third goal for Brazil, who won 3-2.
In an equally close match for Key Stage 1, Italy beat Portugal with a score of 5-4.
