From Sheffield steel to sinking puts! On Wednesday, Y1 and Y2 had a fantastic visit to Kelham Island Museum and Paradise Golf. The children learned about the history of the steel industry, explored workshops and found out about the different crafts that Sheffield is famous for. The museum brought to life the history of the city, as we travelled back in time to experience life and work during the Industrial Revolution.
We also walked along the cobbles of Little Mesters street and discovered where the name of the local pub in Anston came from. Finally we enjoyed roleplaying life in a 1916 house. We all decided that we prefer the baths that we have today!
After lunch, we popped over to the other side of the city to perfect our golf swing and evaluate the Paradise Golf course. This was in anticipation for designing and producing our own mini golf course of Anston and the area for our final event. Watch out for more details of this activity coming soon.
