What a great day the children from Merlins and Ospreys had at Magna Science Adventure Park. The children visited the four pavilions: AIR, FIRE, WATER and EARTH, which are the inspiration for the interactive pavilions we visited. The pavilion exhibits provided us with hands-on STEM learning opportunities; with links to steel heritage and the impact humans have made. Children also enjoyed watching The Big Melt from the walkway: āEā furnace was brought back to life using spectacular light and sound effects, recreating the moment when scrap metal is transformed into white-hot molten steel.
The afternoon was spent in the Get up to Speed with STEM Fair at Magna. The children got to see how candy floss is made, and the science behind it,; they made electrical circuits, used coding to power model trains, an designed a new invention, as well as many other STEM-based activities.
