Today, children have been thinking about what World Mental Health Day is, and what we can do to help with our mental health. We talked about getting out into the fresh air, doing exercise, spending time with family and friends, as well as being creative: these are all things that can help us to be happy or to relax, and so unwind. After a lovely discussion about what makes us happy, what we can do if we are feeling a little sad, and what we can do to help us relax, we spent some time ‘unwinding our mind’ through solving puzzles, drawing pictures and doing some mindful colouring activities.
