This term has been another fantastic one for Merlins. The Y3 children have worked with practitioners from the Open Minds Theatre Company to practice and then perform Julius Caesar at Magna.
Over the term the children have learned about Julius Caesar, the Roman General, and have gained information about William Shakespeare and life in Tudor England. Working with the practitioners and myself the children were able to develop drama skills through games, character studies, performing a whoosh (acting through a synopsis of the play), auditioning for roles and frieze frames: this culminated in the children spending the day at Magna, on Wednesday 1st July, rehearsing and of course playing on the Science Adventure Park, then performing there at night in front of an audience. What a truly amazing experience!
