Ospreys are ‘rocking and rolling’ through the decades!

We're looking forward to visiting here next week!

We’re looking forward to visiting here next week!

We’re only a few weeks into our new school year and we’ve learned so much already!  Children in Ospreys are learning about life, including music, since the 1940’s and have written some fantastic non-chronological reports about events from the 1950’s,  that helped changed the world: such as new transport, the hydrogen bomb, the Festival of Britain and the Queen’s coronation.  Events such as the ‘Moon landing’ and  Martin Luther King’s ‘I have a dream’ speech will be researched as we move through the decades.  In our PE lessons the children have been playing football as well as learning how to dance to rock and roll music: how diverse they are!

The children are getting excited as they are looking forward to our visit next Monday to the Beatles Story, in Liverpool.  We aim to find out how British music influenced the rest of the world!

In November, the Year 3 and Year 4 children will be performing some of their favourite songs from different decades; the rock and roll 50’s to the present day hits.  We hope to see you there!
