The Snowy Owls and Golden Eagles put on a fantastic concert for a large audience of family and friends on the evening of Monday 25th March. We were so proud of all the children who chose to entertain the audience with a solo or small group performance – it really does take a great deal of bravery and they put on an amazing show! The large group songs were also really beautiful – we certainly have a highly talented group of children!
Of course, as well as putting on a great night, we were trying to raise money for two fantastic charities. In the run up to the concert, the children selected an enterprise group and worked incredibly hard to organise the event. We had comperes, who arranged the running order and wrote the scripts, artists, who decorated the hall and designed the artwork for the programme, and charity ambassadors, who helped the Y5s and Y6s to select the good causes, wrote to the charities and gave speeches to raise awareness. Additionally, children in charge of refreshments baked and selected and ordered food and drinks, whilst another group created and sold programmes and tickets. Our fundraisers organised a range of activities and stalls for the interval, and our press officers took photos and wrote blogs for the website.
In total, we were able to donate £240 to each of our brilliant charities, Tiny Toes and the British Heart Foundation. Thank you for being such an amazing audience and for helping us to raise such a fantastic amount of money!
