Thank you to all the parents and carers that attended our ‘Oral Storytelling Movie Premiere’ event on Thursday 10th April. The children worked so hard to learn the stories and then add oral storytelling actions to them. We obviously learnt these to show case at our event, but the main reason was to help the children develop their story writing skills. Having the confidence they did with the oral storytelling, really did have a big impact on their writing. The children consistently were adding a range of time connectives and adjectives to make the stories much more interesting to the reader. We hope you will like watching your own personal copy of the oral storytelling DVD, as much as we did making it!
Your copies will be with you very soon!
We have been using the money raised from this event to purchase both indoor and outdoor resources, some I have listed below.
- Wooden and rubber tracks for our small world/construction area
- Washing line – to order numbers and letters
- Small plastic balls – for counting to 20 and adding/subtracting amounts
- White large spot tray – to create small world environments or to draw pictures on using whiteboard pens
- Box of chunky chalk – to mark make outside
We also plan to purchase some more small world insects for our next topic. So a big thank you for your support. Look out for our next event!!
