We have been learning about ‘People Who Help Us in Our Community’, as Alex from the ‘Dragon Post’ story wrote letters to some people in his community to help him.
We pretended to be PWHU to help us think of sentences we could write in our speech bubbles.
We also had a visit from a Firefighter. He showed us what he has to wear to keep himself safe when at work.
He then talked to us about how we can keep safe. He talked to us about – Stop, drop and roll, and how important this fire safety knowledge is. We then had a go at doing this. He also gave us an information leaflet home about getting smoke alarms fitted in our homes, if we haven’t got them in all ready.
We have also had a visit from a midwife, who told us how she helps families, and their new babies. We are now planning a trip to see our local librarian this week, to find out how she helps us too.
What amazing people we have in our community!
