The enthusiasm and excitement this afternoon in Robins was at fever pitch. The children received several clues to help them hunt for their friendly phonics dragon. Using an old treasure map, the children worked well in teams to find a selection of graphemes that were hidden in the school grounds. They then used their fantastic knowledge of phonics to spell lots of words. Eventually, with all the clues found and the problems solved, we found our friendly Phil who is now living in our classroom and will be helping us in our Phonics lessons.
