Save The Date!

Here in Golden Eagles and Snowy Owls, we have made a fantastic start to this term’s topic. Once again, we will be supporting the charity War Child. To help us to understand the important work that this small organisation carries out around the world, we will be finding all out about how children’s lives have been affected by war, over the past hundred years and into the present day.

We will be taking part in two major enterprise activities over the term. Neither of these have been attempted by children at our school before, so we are extremely excited, if a little apprehensive! Firstly, every child in Year 5 and Year 6 will have the opportunity to contribute to a War Anthology of stories, poetry and other texts, which we be publishing as a Kindle book. This will mean that it will be available to anyone around the world with a Kindle or with a phone or tablet capable of downloading the Kindle App.

Secondly, we will be putting on a Revue, with music, dance, comedy sketches and magic. We have such a talented group of children that we are certain it will be a fantastic entertaining event. This will take place on the evening of Thursday 26th March.

Finally, as you know, the children will have the opportunity to find out all about conflict over the last hundred years when we visit the Imperial War Museum in Manchester on Monday 2nd March.
