Summer term week 5

Good morning Chaffinches!

I hope you are well and have had a lovely weekend!  It was lovely to see all your smiling faces and your message on the photo to all the staff! It really cheered me up 🙂

Well done to those who have been keeping active and have taken part in Mrs Baird’s challenges, such as the 10km challenge this weekend: I managed to do mine too!

Thank you for the work that you have sent to me; I really enjoy seeing your work and looking at the progress you are making because of your hard work and your love of learning.

This week:

Maths

I have updated Active learn and have allocated tasks about measurement and money.  There are some time tasks to complete: some are practical and some are written.

English

On Active learn I have allocated some Spelling and Grammar work for you to complete.

The Government-backed Oak National Academy has some great online lessons.  This is a link to this week’s schedule,

Reading

Again, working from the Oak National Academy, the links below are lessons are based on a book by Philip Pullman, called The Firework Maker’s Daughter.

Well done with reading your allocated books on Active learn.  As this week marks the start of National Smile month, your reading challenge this week is to read a book to a member of your family, that will make them smile.  🙂

Science

As mentioned, this week marks the start of National Smile month.  Please could you find out how to create the perfect smile.  That means, how to look after your teeth.  You could try to find out about the different types of teeth you have, and what their jobs are.

I’d like for you to produce a poster that lets people know how to create the perfect smile!

The Primary Science Teaching Trust has some great ideas for a range of investigations you could carry out at home. Let me know if you try any out.

Keep on learning and stay safe!

Mrs A 🙂
