The Enchanted Woodland

This week strange things have been happening in a corner of our woods.  A very special and magical place has been created – The Enchanted Woodland!  This mystical place was revealed yesterday to the children of KS1.  They entered the wood to find fairy houses, bunting, clay faces, flowers and fairies all of which have been designed and created by themselves during this term. ‘The Enchanted Wood’ by Enid Blyton was the inspiration behind the creation. Throughout this term the children have been listening to tales of the lands at the top of the Faraway Tree and have based a lot of their work on this novel.  They have written some super stories and have become excellent authors themselves, as well as planning and designing their own ‘Enchanted Woodland’.

The children also enjoyed taking part in a family picnic in the sunshine. We have recently been very lucky to receive a Community Award from the Co-op supermarket.  Part of this grant was used to fund the picnic. We are very grateful to the Co-op, thank you very much.

The children ended the magical afternoon by singing a few songs to entertain the adults. A huge thank you to everyone who came and supported the event.
