The Golden Eagles and Snowy Owls are supporting the UNHCR

On Tuesday 4th April, the Snowy Owls and Golden Eagles will be hosting a food festival; the charity we have chosen to fundraise for is the UNHCR, a charity that helps refugees less fortunate than us.

UNHCR is a charity that goes out of their way to ensure sure that the refugees have shelter, food, protection, healthcare and other essentials. They help critically injured people who are caught up in war zones and other people in need. The people who work at UNHCR save lots of people’s lives when people are injured, hurt or need help with food, water and shelter.  UNHCR give the refugees things that they need to stay alive and they build a better future for a millions of people. The charity was founded on the 14th December 1950.  They provide housing, household essentials like blankets, tables, beds and more for refugees fleeing countries. They also provide travel and evacuation for refugees to get out of their dangerous countries. The UNHCR’s ultimate goal is to get people out of their destroyed lives and replace them with new ones.
