On Tuesday 4th April, the Year 5 and Year 6 children of Anston Greenlands Primary School are hosting a Great Global Food Festival and Bake Off. There will be food from all around the world: Indian food, Irish food, Victorian delicacies and much more.
We (the pupils) are going to cook, prepare drinks and decorate the stalls. Children, parents and carers will be able to try the food we have made. Here are a few photos of us preparing for the festival:
There will also be a baking competition for adults and children to take part in; there will be judges who will taste the food and choose the winners in each category.
We have prepared some of the food already but we are looking forward to making more. The food we will be baking this half term will be pizza, jerk chicken, curry and soda bread. We are all looking forward to this day, which we are sure will be amazing, and we all know the guests will enjoy it too.
Also this term, we have been learning about refugees around the world. As a result, we have decided that profits from the Food Festival will go to UNHCR, the United Nations refugee agency.
