We have been busy making numbers up to 5 over the last few weeks. We have used concrete resources (also referred to as manipulatives), which are objects or physical resources that children can handle and manipulate to aid their understanding of different maths concepts. Here we are using bean bags and hoops to make 5 and 3.
We also used ourselves and bears.
We are now starting to use this new knowledge when working independently in our continuous provision.
We are even starting to create our own number sentences!
